Had Dr check up on 15/6. He did pathology swabs and told me to get blood tests done. I was also having an ultrasound - what a busy day. I told Dr that I was hoping to see him in hospital before the end of the week ! I started to go into labour at 2am Thurs and went to the hospital for a check around 10am only to be sent home around 12 as there was not enough happening. Steve went to work as usual and we had arranged Steves parents to have rachel for the night so I could get some rest as the contractions had worn me out. I was not impressed and had a chat to baby bump that afternoon advising that it had been 3 trips to hospital and still no baby. I told baby it was time to come out. I tried to get soem rest but the contractions were still all over the place making me restless. I told baby bump that it was dads last afternoon shift and it was a really good time to arrive. I reminded baby bump that daddy would be home from work around midnight so anytime it was ready to start things going would be great. I spent the evening relaxing on the lounge and around 11pm I noticed thins started to seem a bit regular but was not going to be fooled again. When Steve came home he could see I was still restless and asked what was happening andI filled him in. I told him we would go to bed as it wold probably pass. I got back up after 10 min as I could not lie down. Steve fell aslep and I paced the house as the contractions got more intense.. finally at 1.45am I woke Steve and said we should get to the hospital as we were 4-5min apart. Some of the contractions were really painful I could hardly stand.

weight 74.6kg - Well its getting pretty scary and excitting at the same time. I have rechecked my hospital bag etc as it is a few weeks since I originally packed them and since thought of a few extra things. I had a rough day on the sunday 7/6 and again Tues 9/6 with some really strong contractions BUT dont worry not going to let the little one fool me this time. I am getting better at breathing through it all, moving around and relaxing again as uncomfortable as it is. As these are false labour pains I cant wait for the real thing !!!! This is getting a tough ending to the pregnancy. At least after this week I can deliver at Figtree which is my hospital of choice. Rachel was 35w 6d so time will tell how we go.

Yeah - another week. I had my check up on Mon 1/6 and all ok. Dr pleased I have hung on and baby seems to be doing well still head engaged which I can sure feel. He wants me to stay rested and if I make it through the next 2 weeks another ultrasound. As the week went on I was adjusting to doing very little - lay on the lounge, get up for pee, check emails, get a snack/drink and back tot eh lounge. Austar is a saviour and I now have several favourite programs. My big outing is to pick up Rachel from school and I normally sneak in a trip to the post office to collect mail and Woolies to get a few groceries. On the friday I went into work for morning tea with the team which was really lovely. They had a nice card and gift voucher which was so nice and unexpected. I sorted my stuff as it had to get packed last week due to some moves in the office - I am homeless. The team has also done a baby guessing comp and most seem to think it will be during week 36 or 37. Anyway, I managed to stayed out of hospital this week - lol :-)

Still frustrated at times about not being able to go and do things. I have been pretty tired and lots of brax hicks. Thursday evening Steve was at work and I had a false labour which scared me. I called Steves parents who came to collect Rachel and take me to the hospital. I had all the signs but contractions ended up not getting stronger or closer. I was in so much pain I could hardly get up. I had back pain, nausea and not at all feeling safe. I ended up calling the mine to get Steve to come to the hospital. He was excitted as it was the day before his 40th B'day and thought he might get a special present. Steves dad stayed with me at the hospital till Steve arrived and Steves mum took Rachel back to their place for a sleep over. By 9.30pm I was able to go and it was just a false alarm. Anyway I rested the next few days as much as possible but with Steves B'day then my mums B'day there was lots going on.

weight 71.7kg - Well a bit of action this week....Around 1.30am Wednes 20/5, I woke quite uncomfortable and feeling quite nauseous. I had back pain, and what I thought were contractions (tightening). I lay in bed for about an hour or so unable to get back to sleep after my last call of nature. By that time I was restless and getting a bit worried so I got up and asked Google a few questions and everything indicated I should contact the hospital. I rang Figtree who said I should try and relax – read a book, have a warm drink, take some panadol, use a hot pack and rest. Although it was likely a false labour (braxton hicks), given my history and recent Dr visit she suggested provided nothing changes further I call my Dr in the morning but suggested I head into Wollongong hospital to be checked. I called my Dr first thing and although he wasn’t there she said I should go into Wollongong and get checked and they would call my Dr once they had seen me and worked out what was going on. I had a warm bath and finished packing my hospital bag while the Austar technician was here to do my install (good timing) I figured a few more hours would not make much difference. Steve took me in around 11.30am and they were really good at Wollongong Hosp. I sat on the monitor for about 5 hrs and I continued having contractions all day but they were still mild and were not getting closer together. When they examined me she could feel the head and the cervix was shortening and soft. They also did a few tests and I had to have a steroid injection in the bot (and it hurt). They were going to keep me in overnight but I promised to rest and not do anything so they let me go home (more comfortable for me). I went back the following day for another injection. That will help develop the babys lungs and reflexes as much as possible as my Dr expects it probably wont be too far away and every extra day is good for the baby to develop further. So I am now on bedrest - it seems mother nature has pulled rank and decided my roleof incubator is more important than work right now and I am not really in a position to argue as its not about me right now !

weight 71.4kg - This week I am very sore in the hips and sciatic giving me some grief. Had check up with Dr at the end of the week and he advised baby was head down and engaged !!! also said cervix was shortening and softening so suggested I cut back and have at least a couple of days off a week bed rest. It sure gave me a wake up call. I spent the weekend packing my hospital bag and starting to look through the baby stuff I had in storage. Might be time to finalise the nursery and get the cot set up. Spoke to work about having Wednes & Thurs the following week off.

This week we took a little holiday and headed to Port Stephens in our new Jayco. It was great to get away and nice to have some family time. Cant say the 2hrly toilet trips out of the Jayco to the toilet outside were fun during the night but they sure were refreshing. Felt pretty good but starting to get tired and not able to do all the things I would like to get done. Good to have a break.

Stressful week at work and one I could have had without. I am struggling to get through the week and may need to start thinking about some time out. At least next week I am on leave and can relax a bit. i am sure that will recharge me a little. Tummy getting a bit itchy as it stretches even more (if thats possible). Starting to want passionfruits and manderines. I guess thats a good thing and they are readily available.

weight 67.3kg - Glucose test was the highlight and yuk still as bad as ever. At least I am fairly low risk so not expecting any surprises. Felt like I was going to pass out afterwards though. Had another check up with Dr and all good. Baby HN = 150 and my blood pressure still very good at 100/60. Anyway another week over.

This is not a cut and paste but I do feel like a broken record. Headaches, bad baby brain syndrome, very tired, zero tolerance with patience (poor Rachel), bad pain on left hip, pain in calf muscles and itchy belly. How long to go??? The little flutters are cute and I love talking and playing with baby. Rachel is also so good telling baby not to hurt mummy and talking every day. She gives the baby lots of cuddles and kisses. We had our anniversary this week and went for dinner at the Beach house. As I was talking I refered to baby as him to which Rachel said quite firmly "its not a him its a she baby" she is still very definate it is a girl baby. i try and talk gender neutral -partly for Rachel and also those curious soles around me seen as I know something they dont know :-)

weight 67.3kg. I feel like my belly is going to burst. Its like you can actually feel it stretching as it grows. Baby & I have started playing a little game in the evenings. When I lie in bed, baby wakes up. As I move my hand on my belly the baby seems to kick that spot so I move my hand to the next spot. I also find at work if I rest my book against my belly or am too close to the desk the baby kicks that spot too. Really bad pain in my left hip this week. Sweet cravings continue too - creme caramels, cream bun, etc. Not that weight gain is a problem for me at present.

This week was full of really good days and really bad days. Not sleeping well, headaches, nausea, sciatica etc... I am not coping well and work has been extra stressful too. I need to step back and relax (somethng I am not good at) Baby still likes pizza subs and cream buns. I have actually been eating quite well. Lots of water, fruit, proper meals etc.

weight 66.1kg - well lost what little weight I thought I had gained. Started craving Subway Pizza subs - had about 3 this week also developing a sweet tooth, baby likes cream buns. Feeling ok apart from a scare sunday night. Steve had gone to work and I was home alone getting dizzy and faint spells and bad pains. Ended up calling FPH and nurse talked me through to make sure it was not a premature labor. Was likely just ligaments from moving stuff around (naughty girl) and a bit of anemia which is usual around this part.

Been a little queasy this week but work is extremely stressful. I have the sniffles so I hope I can shake that off. We started to move things last week. The spare room will become Rachels room so the baby can have her old room. We decorated that room gender neutral and it still looks nice. Great for a nursery. My computer has now moved into the entry area and I have so much stuff I am sorting through some to keep and store only knows where and the rest will go - some I will donate to charity or throw out. So something else to tire me out. Slow down world I want to get off !

weight 66.7kg - seems I am starting to gain some weight. My belly is round and firm now like a soccer ball. Bad "baby brain" syndrome this week. Things have been very stressful at work and although I have started feeling better with my energy levels I am feeling frazzled. Had Mon & Tues with insomnia - just could not sleep. Steves snoring did not help. Bad headaches again

weight 66.1kg (thats 10kg loss now) - We had the big ultrasound this week. Steve & Rachel were both there and it went for an hour. The little bub was quiet to start and had a cosy spot with its head tucked in a creavace. It came to life later on and was playing with its toes and the cord. not a thumb sucker or wiggler like Rachel. Baby was smiling "yeah right" during the U/S. Its little mouth was open probably telling us all to leave it alone. Gender is still a secret ! (for everyone else apart from me at least)

weight 65.7kg - Rotten head cold and sore throat. WFH Mon & Tues but really should try and rest more. Still feeling misserable and depressed. Trying to keep positive thoughts and next week is the ultrasound so trying to focus on that.

Big barney week - On Wednesday I arranged to work from home. Rachel was meant to be at school and Steve was building our new sandstone wall. At the last minute Steve decided Rachel could stay home which meant it was not a very productive morning. At 11.30 I packed up and went into work. When I got home I was drained but Steve had a go at me for been lazy and not cooking or helping around the house much. well hello...a bad pregnancy will do that to you. I have hardly eaten this pregnancy as most food I cant stand the smell or look of let alone cook it. I am struggling to drag myself to work most days let alone do anything else and having a toddler at home is full on. Not to mentioned every weekend with Steve at work i am trying to occupy Rachel and have not asked anyone for help as its not their problem - I am stuffed ! Go the sympathy wagon. Well thats my whinge - not a happy camper.

Saw Dr at the end of the week for my first official check up. All going well but he was concerned about me still being sick. I was just happy to have stayed out of hospital this time round. He gave me some maxalon tablets to take as required and within 48hrs made good use of them.

weight - 66.3kg. My book says I should have gained 3-4 kg. At least I have stayed out of hospital this time. I have the odd good day the rest is crap. Still get really tired but I love my warm bath and tummy massage that I give myself. Using some of the lovely lotions etc I got for Christmas. It is hard working FT and Steve working weekends so I occupy Rachel. I am tired by Monday again.

I am still losing weight (67.2kg), feeling tired and sick. still cant eat. Vomitting nearly every day and nausea the rest. Eclipse peppermints help me out. Some times I can eat a bit other times i cant eat at all. Just trying to keep my fluids up as the weather gets warm the odd day now. Been feeling a bit down as I am still sick. Brought baby an outfit for hospital - white romper. Starting to work an odd day from home as I get really exhausted. The ultrasound cheered us up this week. Steve & I went together and saw our bub for the first time.

We took a few days to go away down to the Snowy mountains for a break. When we got home Rachel confidently told me we were having a girl baby called Jessica. Steve and I quite like the name so perhaps it will stick. I think it might be a boy and our top name for a boy is James.

weight 69.1kg - Christmas - yeah, cant eat much and not feeling very social. we had lots of fun and everyone now knows about the baby. Aunty Chris brought baby a cute lime green romper for Christmas. Nan is hoping baby will be born on her 70th Bday (29 June).

Vomitting started later in the week - joy. Only occassional though but the headaches and dizzy spelts are still annoying not to mention this nausea - when does that go away.

weight 74kg - Had my first ultrasound this week - very excitting. ONE heartbeat which was good. Everything developing on schedule. Most days I drag myself to work feeling quite exhausted - still tired and lots of nausea. Have to eat constantly. Having trouble some nights being around food cooking. This week really tired me out. Spent all day saturday on the lounge.

Nausea getting worse and I really need to eat a lot but can't eat big meals. Craving lots of fruit and saladas with tomato and mayo when i get home from work. Also craving lots of fruit - that was the same with Rachel. Had my Dads 70th this week and preared dinner for everyone - that was a task. Anyway all went well but sunday I was a zombie - spent the day on the lounge apart from taking Rachel for her promised photos with Santa.

Had more tests done to check things - all ok. Saw Dr McCosker and we started things rolling with upcoming appts and advice on the next while. Started to have trouble sleeping and a bit emotional about the whole thing. I got quite scared about being realy sick again - that was not fun....

Well 4 weeks exactly and I called the pathology at 10am - Thursday 6 Nov. 2008 to see if my result was in – result came back positive.

I had some pathology and referral done as I had booked to see Dr McCosker on Fri 14/11. I had intended to ask to go in for a “service” as we had not been able to fall pregnant yet. I wanted to have all the initial tests ready for him. This result was a welcome surprise. I rang Steve and said that Rachel was going to be a big sister – his reply was “that’s alright hey!” I have not been able to contain my excitement and we have already told the family. I have been really tired for the last week or so and the nausea started on the weekend. Headaches the last couple of days too but hoping for good news did not want to take anything. Just been reading up on how things happened last time as I was really sick with Rachel but not till a bit further along – heres hoping for a smother run this time. We are so excited !

Weight - 75.9kg

Heres hoping for good news this month. At a BBQ with the neighbours on Thur 30 Oct. one of the guys gave me a shoulder massage and said I would be pregnant within the month. On sunday 2 Nov. I was watching TV with Rachel when she rubbed my tummy and asked if I had a baby there. I said I hoped so but we would have to wait to see if it was our turn. Then she leaned over and gave my tummy a cuddle and kiss and said - I think so its our turn. I want a sister baby. Started feeling tired and a bit of nausea but initially thought I might be getting a bug.....no bug.
