Well today (5 July) I was not feeling too well and contacted work to say I would not be in. A bit off colour and nausea. Well as it turned out I was in labour. My waters broke and by the end of the day our little daughter RACHEL was born. Click here to read about the day

Well I am feeling surprisingly well and nothing much to complain about. Everything is ready and I guess the waiting game is slow. Having said that I am trying just to enjoy the last few weeks of my preganacy as once the baby arrives - which will be soon enough, our life changes forever - but in a good way everyone keeps telling us.

Pretty good week this week just feeling a lot heavier out front. Had an appt with an oseopath for some massage and relaxing. Felt great. Had a good relaxing weekend as I was quite tired. We had the last of our pre-natal classes which was actually quite useful and I am glad now we did them. Have I mentioned how excitted we both are about our new little arrival :-)

Had check up with Dr this week and all is ok. BP- 110/60 and tummy 33cm so all perfect and on track. Actually today I was thinking how surprisingly comfortable I actually feel considering where I am up to. I only have the odd day with a few aches or complaints which is better than most. We had our first pre-natal class this week. It was good to learn about what to expect and the options available. Funnily she talked about the baby dropping and that night I was sure our baby had dropped but thought I would just see over the next few days. Sure enough comments started and I was breathing better too. Quite amusing I thought.

Feeling a bit off colour mid week so took 2 days home to rest. Generally feeling ok and the extra weight is noticeable. Its just a big bump out front as I have not really gained weight everywhere else. Back ache is a worry some nights and cant sleep. I see a pattern developing here. Nursery looks so cute. On the weekend I washed the clothes and put them away and made up the cot with a new sheet set I brought and the quilt my aunty in Norway made. Just needs a baby now and the room will be complete. Weight 71.5kg on7/6/05

Wow the time is flying by. We had another ultrasound this week and saw the bay going just fine. Good size but a small baby. Predicted birth weight around 7lb. Got a cute pic of the baby's face. Quite a square face actually like mine. It will be interesting to see what characteristics inherited from both of us. A bit of sweeling in my fingers this week and had to take my wedding ring off. I put it on a chain around my neck instead. Rotten headache midweek again and leg cramps - ohh they are painfull. My cough persists but everyone seems sick with the flu lately. We also got the baby room decorated and it looks gorgeous.

I seem to be gaining regular weight now but still wonder if the baby is growing enough. Just me being a mum as Dr and everyone else seems to be ok with everything. Having said that a small baby is good imagine giving birth to a 10lb'er..... ouch. Headaches still babd this week too. Weight 70.5kg on 26/5/05

Had a bad earache to start the week off. Along with the headache, being tired and sore I was a bit grump. Had 2 nights where I had ever so slight spotting on both occassions. I was not worried at the time but since talking about it perhaps I should get it checked out. I will let the Dr know next visit. The skin cant possibly stretch any more. I can tell when there is a growth spurt on the way I get an itching tummy and it feels like I am about to pop. Having said that i am big but not huge really considering. I am loving being preganant. Steve gives me such sweet looks from time to time as he watches me try and manouver with the extra weight etc. He never says anything but I feel very loved and its great he has offered me such support right through. He has been to every single Dr appt with me. We love watching my belly wiggle and I love feeling the flutters and movements everyday. We cant wait for our little one to arrive. Weight - 69.5kg on 20/5/05

Highlight of the week that horrible Glucose test. Fancy making a pregant woman fast take blood drink a bottle of sugar wait 2 hrs take more blood. No wonder I was feeling sick. Headaches quite bad this week and had several nights of little sleep. Gets a bit exhausting after a while. This weekend we went to sydney and stayed overnight. We had the Norwegian festivities on Saturday night and Sunday went to the Zoo. I needed to go to the toilet every hour - unbelievable.

Well Dr appt again this week. I had a few minor issues I raised - headaches, dizziness, back pain, pelvic pains, pain in left buttox, lump in belly button, sleeping probs. Basically it sounds like I am whining - I am not but just wanted to make sure although I suspect most of this is just the way it is that Dr was happy there is nothing else. Belly button seems to be a small hernia, and headaches sound like migranes. Basically everything is normal and going fine. baby is head down Dr said. Blood pressure - 110/60, tummy 27cm, weight 67.5kg on 3/5/05

Time to relax and catch up again now we are home. Those headaches seem to be getting worse and make me feel dizzy. The numbness down the side of my face worries me at times. Still have not finished the baby room. Need to get it together and figure out wht other stuff I need to get ready for the baby. Weight - 67.5kg on 27/4/05

On holidays at last. Probably our last holiday before baby arrives. While away Steve felt the baby movements himself for the first time while we were in Tenterfield, NSW. Steve is starting to see the changes so its more real for him these days. The travelling knocked me about. I am glad we took lots of breaks as I needed the toilet, drink, food or all of the above on a regular basis. Very tired as the week went on. We arrived home for a 50th birthday and somewhere I found the energy to get up and dance which Baby did not like and kicked all night I am sure I have internal brisues now and sunday I was exhausted.

Starting to have probs with sciatic nerve and oh those cramps in the calf muscles. Hard to get comfortable sometimes at night and I get a few sleepless nights in a row. We leave on holiday at the end of the week and the break should be nice. Weight - 66kg on 15/4/05

Another Dr appt this week. Everything going fine. Blood pressure 100/60 and tummy measurement 22cm, weight - 65kg on 5/4/05. Got a head cold at the end of the week no wonder after the hectic lead up tot he wedding I was wondering when I would crash.

Well this is the week of the wedding. All the little last minute things now. I have been feeling good just a bit tired but what else should I expect. My dress fits and looks perfect I am so happy the way it has all come together. I have also felt fairly calm amist all the planning etc. A wedding has so much potential for creating stress heads and I seem to be the calmest one around.

The wedding day was perfect. Everything fell into place. My only stress attack was turning up to the ceremony and Steve was not there yet. We had a sunny day and 35'c which was a bit warm and certainly not the weather you expect for this time of year. We had everything go as scheduled I go a bit dizzy around the horse and carriage and photos at the farm but once I ate I was ok again. After getting up around 6am I did not go to bed till around 11.30. What a day...

Well this is the half way mark I guess... woo hoo !

I have been feeling pretty good and very excitted about the wedding. I have my little bum but its not big as such. As long as I can fit into my wedding dress. The dress fittings are a bit of a problem and have to wait till the 2 weeks before. I am eating normally again. weight - 64.5kg on 21/3/05

This week we had the big ultrasound. I was so wonderful and its all on video. Baby is perfect all the bits inplace and sucking its thumb - too cute. I had been concerned about the weight of the baby after I had been so sick but dont worry baby can look after itself. We dont want to find out the sex of the baby till its born. Sure is enough going on around here. So far this week I am going ok. Sore back is a problem but I know I will have to get use to that for now warm baths and my hot water bottle are my best friends.

I really popped out this week and starting to enjoy the pregnancy now. I have not been sick all week just a few bouts of nausea on the odd occassion so I am comfortable to know its all settled down. This week was my first week at work away from my normal role yet I was busier than ever. 4 weeks till the wedding now so thats excitting. I have not had time for a relaxing bath all week so I will make time on the weekend and take it easy. Had our Dr appt this week and he was pleased with everything. Heard the heartbeat again and all going well. Thurs night did not sleep well due to growing pains.

Slowly getting better. Still the odd throw up but eating normal again. Back at work FT again and that tires me out by the end of the day. Mostly all good. Had a meal out this week for the first time in ages. Felt the first flutters only little ones and what I thought might have been a heal of the foot or elbow etc. I have manged to start gaining a little weight again too 64kg on 22/2/05

15/2/2005

Basically still going ok. My first full week back and work and that was a shock to the system. Just the odd visit to the bath to throw up now. but at least I can see it settling down. I actually ate decent meals this week. We had Indian on Valentines Day. My focus is on the wedding plans now.

Well this week has been going surprisingly well. I feel much better and not feeling sick all day. The vomitting has settled although every now and then my body decides to let me know the hormones are working by the odd vomit. Anyway there are better things to discuss and be thankful the photos displayed are tummy pics and not me hanging over the bath tub which has been my usual stance. Anyway its good to feel half human againa and I am hoping it continues. The wedding is not far away now so I really want to enjoy planning that. This week my little tummy started to show and everyone has started to comment I look pregnant. Time to enjoy it all now :-)

Tired, weak, unmotivated and exhausted. The vomitting continues and I am tired. I have lost so much time off work and i am lucky they are so flexible. I have discussed doing half days if I need too. By mid week I was not feeling well at all again and went to see Dr. We listened to the heart beat and the baby kicked for the first time - I could not feel it tough. Dr rang the hospital while we were there and told me to go straight in. I am feeling quite downa nd depressed because I am always so sick. So another 5 days in hospital and they tried all the drugs again. Finally zaflon worked and I was able to go home. Weight 63kg on 7/2/05

The weight continues to drop off me and I am starting to get concerned about that. The vomitting continues seems the medication only stops me from vomitting any time of day now I vomit when I eat. At least I can hold fluids down. Feeling quite week and have diahorrea and headaches. Had Dr appt Tues for monthly check up. Heard Heart beat on doppler - good and strong. Major scare on Thurs with bleeding when I woke and passed a clot the size on a pc mouse. Sent sms to Dr as it was 6am and could not ring at that hour. He phoned me straight away and told me to come to his office by 7am. He tried to pick up the heart beat on the doppler but nothing - no one had to say anything I just looked at his face. I had tears running down my face it was the emptiest feeling. Then Dr suggested an ultrasound and eventually found heart beat what a relief.

Well this being sick is not so fun right now. On 17/1/05- I went to casualty and they admitted me straight away. Within 15min of walking inthe door they had me on the drip. When they went to take blood I was so dehydrated it clotted int he tube. The transferred me to figtree hospital inthe afternoon. I spent the week in hospital on the drip and it did make me feel better. They tried all sorts of drugs to stop me vomitting, finally I was using stemitil which seemed to work. I had my 12 week ultrasound too and it was amzing to see how well the baby was soing even though I had been so sick. My book "up the duff" by Kaz Cooke says that I should have gained about 3 1/2 kg by now. Well I have lost 10 kg - go figure

Well I wish this nausea would go away. I even tried the seabands which seem to help most of the time but not always. As we are looking for a new car the trips to sydney are exhausting. Latest foods I like are passionfruits, oranges, apples, cheese on saladas, plain popcorn, bean dip and corn chips. Still sleeping lots and being back at work is really hard. Starting to plan our wedding so that will keep my mind occupied too. Everyone has been told we are pregnant now as we are close enough to our safe zone.

Well once we got into the week - the vomitting started full swing. I was so bad I had to have 2 injections of maxalon and tablets. I could not even hold down water. I have lost 9kg in total which I know I will gain soon enough but it is very tiring and I have been very dehydrated. All I have been doing is resting. I have not eaten any solids for 5 days and lemonade, coke and icy poles have become my new friends. I hope this is only a very temporary thing. weight 67kg on 16/1/05

Wow the New Year is here and things are going great. Feeling ok the nausea still hangs around and I get days where I just sleep heaps. Still not eating and smell of food cooking - well lets not go there. Its kind of fun reading the development each week and noticing all the stuff going on. I have updated a page with just pics - ultrasounds and tummy pics. I sure have lost a bit of weight - 68.5kg on 4/1/05

Tired, tired, tired. It is currently the Christmas & New Year period and I am taking some time off work. All I seem to do is sleep. So many things I would like to get done around home is just not getting done. My appetite has increased a bit now and yesterday I woke up feeling like chocolate crackles, today I woke up feeling like oranges to eat. I have not had much of a sweet tooth so far during this pregancy most of the things I want are pretty healthy. Highlight of the week was another ultrasound. We could see the head, body, legs and the heart beating away too....it was very emotional.

We also announced our engagement on New Years Eve and planing our wedding around Easter 2005. I am very happy about that but it will be a hectic few months.

Sick all day long. Mainly just nausea and reflux. Still eating very basic things and not much just regular feeds. This is great time of year to not be eating with all the Christmas treats. Anyway at least I get reminded daily there is something going on inside me. I am so amazed at all the changes and weird feelings. Its an amazing thing and I am enjoying every day. Had a bit of a scare this week when I was home from work not feeling well. I noticed some spotting and called my Dr. He told me to come in straight away and he did a check and scan and all was fine. Very good actually - a nice strong heatbeat, good development since last scan, well positioned and all looking fine.

Very tired, dizzy spells and v.sore bb. Nausea and reflux just started at the end of the week. Still not eating much lost a bit of weight. Mainly salad and fruit which is a good thing. Started to develop a sweet tooth for chocolate at the end of the week. Still having cramping and lots of toilet trips. Sleep is weird some nights I sleep well others I get up at 4am to eat and cant go back to sleep. No wonder I get so tired.

Had HGC levels done again at 6w6d and it was 33223 so all is going perfectly. Had our first Dr appt and got a good report. He is very happy with my progress and has given us the referal for the 12 week u/s. I go back to see him around week 13.

The big thrill this week was the ultrasound. The black jelly bean bit is the gestational sac and the bubble is the yolk sac. Not quite a heartbeat yet but I hope to have another u/s to check that. I have been put back a few days so this is testing my patience. My hormone levels are great and all ready to go and see Gyno on 15 Dec.

The neasea has started. As the week went on it seems to be the afternoons that were worst. I have been resting and putting my feet up as much as possible and feel guilty at times as there is so much to do with christmas coming. I have lost interest in food and cant prepare dinner anymore. I have cravings that change every 4 days or so. It started with fruit and salad and then BBQ chicken and cucumber salad towards the end of the week it was bake beans. I am starting to sleep better toward the end of this week. I like to nap in the afternoons too when I can.

I actually feel good. I had a bit of nausea and the headaches persist, twinges in my uterus and tender breasts since about week 3. I am feeling quite bloated and already a few on my skirts dont fit. It is despite losing just over a kg in the last week. I have started getting up in the night to go to the toilet and I am just starting to be uncomfortable sleeping on my stomach. The hot weather is not helping me get sleep either. I have also started getting extremely tired. This week all I seem to do is go to the toilet and sleep. My HGC levels are also looking great:

*17DPO -4w4d (27/11)= 291

*19DPO-4w6d (29/11) = 568

*22DPO -5w2d (2/12) = 2333

For now I am trying to relax, get as much rest as possible and look after myself. The next few weeks will be tough and all going well this website will go live at christmas. I am scared but once I can see my hormones continuing to rise well and an ultrasound I will be better.

Well I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks 4 days. It was quite unexpected as I had no symptoms apart from tender breasts which is normal around that time of the month. I had been quite sick the 2 weeks prior with a flu virus and stomach bug. I had the works and felt like death warmed up so becoming pregnant was the last thought I had. We had been to see a local fertility expert at the beginging of Nov. and he said when we first arrived many couples in our situation had sat on his lounge and within a few weeks confirmed they were pregnant - it worked for us too ! We had even registered and received all our paperwork to commence the program which involved a heap of tests over a 5 week period. Well wont be needing that too soon.

Pre-pregnancy weight - 76kg
