DARWIN June 2007

Darwin is a quiet city. Appox 100,000 people. Very laid back and casual approach to life in every aspect. We were there in what they call the dry season. The Top End only has 2 seasons - wet and dry. The days were 30-34'c and blue sky. You could easily walk around the city and bus was the other main transport. It was also good to see a place where you could buy the local produce at reasonable prices - crocodile meat, barramundi, crabs, oysters and pearls etc. We ate a lot of seafood up there.

Darwin has been rebuilt twice. Once after WWII - ther eis a lot of history about the war in darwin. And again after cyclone Tracey on the early 70's
