BABY BOOK NOTES - June 2006

You are 11 mths old

The first 2 weeks we headed off on a driving holiday to Victoria. It was a hectic trip as we drove to a new place every night and did some sights then off again. You coped really well. We all got sick with a cold and we had you checked at a Dr as you had a bad cough. Dimetap medicine has been great for you as it stops your nose run and make you feel a bit better. We had to dress you in many layers of clothes as it was so cold. Some days you had so many clothes on that your arms were not long enough to hold your bottle. You ate anything going and developed a taste for crayfish, strawberries and passionfruit. You slept in your portacot for 12hrs a night this has continued once we got home as well as before we went away you were still doing 10hrs with the odd 12 hr night. At night after you had your play and dinner we would put you in the pram all rugged up, give you a bottle and go for a walk into town so mummy & daddy could have dinner. As always you were great. Never woke or worried about a thing. When we got back to the motel we put you in the cot and you slept through – how lucky are we. We tried to get a bath when we could which was every couple of days and you and mum would often have a play in the spa bath. You love your baths. You had no routine for the 2 weeks away yet managed without much problem. You had the odd grizzle. Mummy also broke her rules and you ate in the car and had bottles in the car but parents have to keep sanity somehow!
You loved sightseeing but hated it when you had to get back in the car
Food was the biggest challenge as you wanted to eat at times we were not eating and as you refuse to eat the tinned food you ate some unusual things eg; sausage roll.
You learnt lots this month – walking was the big thing. The day before you were 11mth old. You also learnt to brush your hair with a brush, talk on the phone, say good girl ( goo ga) clearly say bye bye and wave, say hi and hallo, say ta and give something to someone, say ta and take something, we can ask you to clap hands, brush hair, identify a toy and you will do it. You also learnt to have a few good tantrums. Attitude plus starting to show.

When we got home from our trip it was time to start planning your birthday party
